How to Set Up TiviMate Safely with a Licensed Playlist

Last verified: August 3, 2026. I checked TiviMate’s official site and Google Play listing plus Amazon’s current Fire OS/device documentation. The setup flow remains limited to compatible Android TV/Fire OS devices and licensed playlists; Vega OS devices require a separate compatibility check.

TiviMate is a television-oriented media player for Android TV devices. It organizes playlists, channels, program-guide data, favorites, catch-up, recordings, and other playback features—but it does not sell or include television channels.

To set it up safely, obtain the app from TiviMate’s verified Google Play listing or tivimate.com, use only a playlist or account from a provider authorized to distribute the content, and treat every playlist URL and login as a password.

TiviMate is a player, not a TV subscription

TiviMate’s official website and Google Play listing both say:

• the app is a media player only;
• it provides no content;
• it is not affiliated with content providers;
• a paid TiviMate upgrade unlocks player features, not channels or streams;
• users must add their own playlists.

This distinction prevents a common scam. A website using “TiviMate” in its name may actually be selling an unrelated channel package. Verify the app through the official Google Play package ar.tvplayer.tv or follow Google Play’s developer-support link to tivimate.com.

Check device compatibility

TiviMate’s official sources say it is intended for Android TV devices and remote-control navigation. It is not optimized for touchscreen phones or tablets.

Amazon now ships both Fire OS and Vega OS devices. Its current device table identifies models such as Fire TV Stick 4K Select (2025) and Fire TV Stick HD (2026) as Vega OS. Check Settings → My Fire TV or Device & Software → About before following Fire OS sideloading steps.

Before setup: verify the content source

Ask the playlist or service provider for written answers to these questions:

1. What company operates the service and where is it registered?
2. Which channels or catalogs is it authorized to distribute in your country?
3. Does its website publish terms, privacy information, refund rules, and support details?
4. Is the account limited to the number of simultaneous streams you intend to use?
5. Does it provide a secure HTTPS playlist, portal, or API endpoint?

A channel logo, huge catalog, low price, “anti-freeze” slogan, crypto-only payment, or claim of being “official TiviMate” does not prove distribution rights. Avoid test credentials posted publicly and do not use scraped or shared playlists.

Method 1: install from Google Play

On an Android TV or Google TV device with Google Play:

1. Open Google Play on the television.
2. Search for TiviMate IPTV Player.
3. Confirm the package listing identifies Armobsoft FZE and the app ID ar.tvplayer.tv.
4. Read the current permissions, data-safety section, price terms, and recent update notes.
5. Select Install.
6. Open the app from the device’s Apps screen.

Google Play currently says the app may collect personal information, app activity, device identifiers, and diagnostic data; it also says data is encrypted in transit, no data is shared with third parties, and deletion can be requested. These statements are developer declarations and can change, so review the live listing before installation.

Method 2: install the official APK on compatible Fire OS

If the compatible Fire OS device does not offer TiviMate through its Appstore, the official TiviMate website currently provides:

Numeric codes are convenient but opaque. After entering the code, confirm that it resolves to the tivimate.com domain before downloading. If the destination differs, stop.

The safe Fire OS sequence is:

1. Install a downloader or browser from the Amazon Appstore.
2. Reveal Developer Options when necessary by highlighting the Fire TV name under About and pressing Select seven times on supported Fire OS versions.
3. Open Install Unknown Apps and allow only the chosen downloader.
4. Enter https://tivimate.com/apk directly, or verify that the official code resolves there.
5. Review the package-installation prompt and install.
6. Delete the downloaded APK.
7. Turn the downloader’s unknown-app permission off.

Add a licensed playlist

When TiviMate first opens, choose Add playlist. Current official sources list three supported playlist types: M3U, Xtream Codes, and Stalker Portal. Use the exact type supplied by the authorized provider.

M3U playlist

Choose the M3U playlist option and enter the private playlist URL exactly as provided. The URL may contain a username, password, token, or device identifier in its query string.

• Do not paste it into a URL-expander, public validator, screenshot, forum, or support comment.
• Keep the https:// scheme when the provider supports it.
• Give the playlist a neutral name that does not reveal account information.
• Do not enable video-on-demand sections you do not use.

Xtream Codes-style login

Choose the Xtream Codes option only when the provider supplies a server address, username, and password for this protocol.

Enter each value in its matching field. Do not combine the server URL with a login copied from a different service. If the login fails, confirm capitalization, expiry, allowed connections, and server status with the provider rather than testing the credentials on random websites.

The phrase “Xtream Codes” describes a compatible login format in this context; it does not certify the provider’s licensing or trustworthiness.

Stalker Portal

Use Stalker Portal only when the authorized service explicitly supports it and supplies its own setup instructions. Portal systems may bind access to a device identifier. Do not clone or invent a MAC address to impersonate another device or bypass account limits.

Configure the electronic program guide

TiviMate can display an EPG grid, but schedule data usually comes from the playlist provider or a separate authorized XMLTV source.

1. Open the playlist settings.
2. Select EPG Sources or the equivalent current menu.
3. Add the HTTPS XMLTV URL supplied for that playlist.
4. Assign the EPG source to the correct playlist.
5. Run an EPG update.
6. Check several channels and time zones before changing offsets.

Set privacy and household controls

After the first successful channel and EPG test:

• enable parental controls where required;
• use a PIN that is not reused for purchases or accounts;
• hide or remove groups you do not use;
• disable external-player handoff unless needed;
• review auto-start behavior before enabling it;
• keep account and playlist URLs out of visible channel names;
• restrict recording folders to storage you control;
• check how long recordings and backups are retained.

TiviMate’s official feature list includes parental controls, recording, catch-up, multiview, multiple playlists, favorites, and personalization. Availability can depend on the app tier, device, storage, and source capabilities. A feature appearing in the player does not mean the provider permits or supports it.

Understand free versus paid app features

The current Google Play listing includes in-app purchases, and TiviMate’s website offers account sign-up. Review the live price, renewal interval, device allowance, refund terms, and cancellation path before paying.

TiviMate Premium is an application-feature purchase. It is not an IPTV subscription and does not add channels. Do not pay a third party that claims its channel package is required to “activate TiviMate.”

Use only the purchase path exposed by the verified app or official tivimate.com account. Never give an IPTV provider your Google account password or TiviMate account password.

Backup without exposing credentials

Before large channel edits or device replacement, use TiviMate’s current backup function if available. Store the backup on private local storage you control.

Channels load but EPG is blank

Verify the EPG URL, update status, playlist assignment, XMLTV channel IDs, and time zone. A working stream and a working guide are separate data paths.

One channel fails

Try another lawful channel from the same playlist. One failure usually points to the source stream or mapping, not the entire TiviMate installation.

Every channel buffers

App closes or becomes slow

Restart the device, check free storage, update TiviMate from the same official source, and clear cache—not data—first. Clear Data removes local app configuration and may erase playlists and sign-in state.
